She now reigns as the most expressive expressions ever. And you'll soon see why. ;)

Kate with enough spunk and shenanigans to make any room light up with good humor. And Joe with his own shenanigans and his own comedic personality. There was never a moment of NOT laughter. These two balance each other and truly inspire (whether they knew that or not!). Both serving in the military, they have had the chance to see the world and experience so many different cultures. When Thailand makes it to the "potential honeymoon places" list, you know you have an adventurous and awesome duo.

"We love hiking" was part of Kate's very first email inquiry to me, and so when we started planning out the where/when/whats of their engagement session, we immediately went back to that very first thought. And so Noland Trail became the where, early April became the when, and hiking became the what. Oh, don't forget the trail mix! Seriously, I was kind of obsessed with the trail mix. And when Joe said, "This is the best session! I get to eat during it!"... well, it made me ponder the future. I really should encourage food-related activities with ALL engagement sessions especially for the guys. ;)

If this session was as much fun as it was, you know their October destination wedding in Maryland is going to be a big ole shazamin' good time!

Orchestrated's Feather and Stone commemorates the rich Native American history in the Las Vegas region. The Paiute [pie-yute] inhabited the region before modern civilization came. "As a people the Paiute are peaceable, moral, and industrious, and are highly commended for their good qualities by those who have had the best opportunities for judging. They possess more solidity of character." [source] Like all Native American tribes, the Paiute respected and revered nature and the land. And because of that, they are closely tied to the natural beauty that surrounds the Vegas Strip.

And on the personal, more casual side, we wanted to commemorate the true Las Vegas history beyond the glitz and glamour with eco-friendly and sustainable resources, and of course, the beauty of the desert. Springs Preserve in Las Vegas was the perfect venue for us and our theme, not only in scenery, but in philosophy. As stated on their website: “Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978, the Springs Preserve is a 180-acre cultural institution designed to commemorate Las Vegas’ dynamic history and to provide a vision for a sustainable future.” It couldn’t have been more perfect than that! With the help of Angelica of Green Orchid Events, we were bound to have awesome fun, community, and eye candy.

If you want to really get a feel for how Orchestrated works and what type of community we hope to foster, you should definitely watch the film below. :) Not only did I do some major happy dances when I found out Jeremy was going to be at WPPI and available for the event, but I'm pretty sure if I could do a cartwheel, one would have happened when I saw the final film he created for Feather and Stone.

'Nuff said. :)

When a couple does jazz hands (without my instigating it!!), I know I've met some kindred spirits. And that was just one part of Heather and Rob's engagement session at Little Island Park. Both from Florida, these two made Hampton Roads their new home with their furbabies. Quirky, crazy-amazing photogenic, loves to laugh, courageous individuality, and a penchant for a bit of the old world, they're pretty much my favorite kinda peeps. ;) The way Rob looks at her and the way Heather just blossoms from it = mega heart swoon that would befit a Jane Austen novel. They are perfect for each other. And they are heckuva thumb war players. (Shh, don't say anything, but Heather totally won. Like all of the times. ;) )

Their intimate September wedding is going to be just beautiful, and I'm so excited that I get to be a part of it. Metal teapots, florals, and vintage books as centerpieces?! Umm, yes. Add an extra yes. Because it's going to be that awesome. :)
